Position Title:  Assistant Professor of Accounting

GENERAL SUMMARY: Paine College is a private institution steeped in the tenets of Methodism that provides a liberal arts education of the highest quality.  The College emphasizes academic excellence, ethical and spiritual values, social responsibility, and personal development to prepare spiritually centered men and women for positions of leadership and service.

 

Faculty in the Department of Business Administration are expected to teach undergraduate courses which may include evening, weekend and/or hybrid courses; advise students; engage in teaching practices with an acute focus on documenting student learning; serve on faculty committees; attend departmental, faculty and other meetings, attend College convocations, and pursue professional service opportunities at the local, regional, and national levels.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES:  Candidate should provide a record of or potential for scholarly publication and activity in the field of accounting and involve students whenever possible, as well as the demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methods online and in-person.  Candidates should also demonstrate an ability or interest in teaching in a multicultural, multiethnic campus.  In addition to teaching, duties include student advising and committee service.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Earned Doctorate/similar qualifications with major in Accounting/Finance.  Possess a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Accounting/Finance.  Have experience in the field of Accounting and meet appropriate professional qualifications as required by ACBSP.  Exhibits proficiency in teaching Accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.

 

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Professional Development Plan (PDP) and/or the College's evaluation instrument for instructional personnel.
