Judge David D. Watkins State Court of Richmond County

David D. Watkins is currently a Judge in the State Court of Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. He is the son of John and Charlotte Watkins, his birth occurring on the 5th day of July, 1959, in Richmond County. David D. Watkins obtained his basic education in the public school of Glenn Hills High, from which he graduated in 1977. His general education was continued at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia, where he obtained a B.A. degree in History (with Honors). He continued his education at the University Of Georgia School Of Law, Athens, Georgia, where he obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 1986. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1986, where he was Assistant Prosecutor, Chief Prosecutor, and Chief of Legal Assistance. He served in the United States Marine Corps until 1990. From 1990-1991 David was a partner in the law office of Watkins & Watkins. From 1991-1994 he was sole proprietor in the law firm of David D. Watkins and Associates, Attorneys and Counselors at Law. In July of 1997 he was appointed State Court Judge by Governor Zell Miller. Only July 21, 1998, voters, by an overwhelming majority, re-elected him to this position. In Fulton County, on the 30th of October 1981, he was united in marriage to Miss Angela D. Cumberlander. They are the parents of two children, Daniel and Christina. In spite of the many demands upon his time and energies, Judge Watkins is active within the community. He is mentor to a number of at-risk young men, and he goes to various schools speaking to kids about staying out of trouble. Additionally, he helped create the Richmond County State Court Accountability Court. This court helps people whose drug addictions lead to criminal behavior.

Reverend Frederick D. Favors of Springfield Baptist Church

Reverend Favors was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas. He attended the public schools in Forrest City, and later matriculated at the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff majoring in Premed and minoring in chemistry where he finished magna cum laude. In addition, he studied at Atlanta University majoring in Administration and Policy Studies. His employment advanced from the Forest City Public School System to the Cobb County Public School System in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member of or is affiliated with numerous religious and civic organizations including Phi Delta Kappa, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and Free and Accepted Masons. Reverend Favors religious affiliations include Executive Board Member of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia (GMBC), Congress Teachers for Ministers Division (GMBC), McDuffie County Ministerial Alliance, Ministry Addressing Neighborhood Needs Abundantly (MANNA) Coordinator and Antioch North Baptist Church – Atlanta, Georgia.
