Giving Thanks FROM PRESIDENT HARDEE

As I reflect on the coming Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to thank the Augusta/CSRA Community, Alumni and Friends for the warmth and support that you have shown to my wife, Wyonnie, and me since our arrival at Paine College in June. I am so grateful for the hardworking and dedicated faculty and staff at Paine who, without fail, nurture and shepherd our students on the path to success.

To our governing body, members of the Paine College Board of Trustees, I give thanks to you for your leadership, guidance, and commitment to this historic Institution.

To the next generation of leaders, our students, thank you for reaching and giving the very best of yourselves. We promise that you won't leave Paine like you came, for you will depart equipped to take on the challenges that the world will offer.

During this holiday season when we are blessed to be surrounded by family and loved ones, let us take a moment to give thanks for our brave men and women who serve in the U.S. military for they are not forgotten. We know that their sacrifice is even greater during this time away from their loved ones.

While many of us will enjoy a bountiful meal in a warm and safe environment, let us remember those who are not so fortunate. I encourage you to take time to offer a smile, a warm hello, or a plate of hot food to those less fortunate for giving back is the best way to show God's love for our brethren.

When we all return next week, let us bring a renewed sense of commitment to our respective jobs and to the classrooms. Let us emerge anew with hope and faith in knowing that the Paine College community has much for which to be thankful.

Wyonnie and I wish each of you a Thanksgiving filled with peace, prosperity, and joy.

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Hardee, President
