Paine College Board of Trustees Announces New Chair

AUGUSTA, GA – The Paine College Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Attorney Barbara Bouknight, as its new Chairman of the Board, effective August 27, 2015. Attorney Bouknight of Flint, Michigan will succeed current Chairman, Dr. David Peterson. 

Attorney Bouknight has been serving as a Board of Trustees member for the past year. Attorney Bouknight has previously served as the Executive Director (UniServ Director) for the Michigan Education Association (MEA), Associate Superintendent of Personnel/Employee Relations for Southfield Michigan Public Schools, and as the Director of Employee Relations for Flint Michigan Community Schools.

Attorney Bouknight holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University and Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School.

“I want to thank Dr. Peterson for his leadership of the Board and his dedication to Paine College,” said Interim President, Dr Samuel Sullivan. “I look forward to working with Attorney Bouknight and the entire Board in helping Paine College in it’s mission to become an even greater institution.”
