Reverend Frederick D. Favors will Address Paine College Graduating Seniors During Baccalaureate Service

Augusta, GA --- Paine College will host its Baccalaureate service on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel.  Reverend Frederick D. Favors, Pastor of Springfield Baptist Church located in Thomson, Georgia, will give the Baccalaureate sermon. This sacred worship service is the last time the graduating seniors will come together as a class prior the Commencement Convocation that will take place on Sunday morning, May 10, 2015 at 9 a.m. in the HEAL Complex.   The Baccalaureate service and the Commencement Convocation are open to the public. 

Reverend Favors, a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, attended the public schools in Forest City, Arkansas and later matriculated at the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff majoring in Premed with a concentration in chemistry.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude.  In addition, he studied at Atlanta University majoring in Administration and Policy Studies.  He worked in the Forest City Public School System and advanced to the Cobb County Public School System in Atlanta, Georgia.  

Reverend Favors is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the Free and Accepted Masons.  He is affiliated with several religious and civic organizations.  He serves on the executive board for the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia and is a member of the McDuffie County Ministerial Alliance, Congress Teachers for Ministers Division, and the Ministry Addressing Neighborhood Needs Abundantly (MANNA) Coordinator.

He is honored to be a servant leader at many levels.  Reverend Favors is the Founder and President of Christian Men United to Serve Humanity and serves on the McDuffie County Human Relations Board and the Georgia Planning Group Board for Health Promotion.  He also serves as the trustee board chairperson for the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia and Association of County Commissioners Workman Compensation Board. 

Reverend Favors is married to the former Elene P. Ward.  They are the proud parents of two sons: Terence and Frederick, Jr.  They also have two loveable granddaughters, Adrianna and Briana.
