Paine College Appoints Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs

AUGUSTA, GA - Interim President Dr. Samuel Sullivan announced on March 4, 2015 the appointment of Dr. Cheryl Evans-Jones as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. "Dr. Jones brings a wide range of experience in higher education to Paine College," said Dr. Sullivan.  "She has an impressive record as a team builder and has demonstrated considerable leadership during this special time in the life of the College."

For over 20 years, Dr. Evans-Jones has been a member of the Paine College community. Dr. Evans-Jones held the positions of Coordinator of the Department of Psychology, Interim Chair of the Division of Social Sciences, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs. In September of 2014, Dr. Evans-Jones was named the Acting Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Dr. Evans-Jones received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Fisk University(Nashville, Tennessee). She received the Master of Arts and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in Clinical-Child/Developmental Psychology from The Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio).
