(Augusta, GA) –Dr. George C. Bradley announced today that Brandon P. Brown has been promoted to Senior Vice-President for Institutional Advancement.
The Senior Vice-President for Institutional Advancement has primary responsibility for providing executive support to the President along with administering the College’s strategic planning, supervising the overall image, governmental relations, corporate relations, sponsored programs, Title III programs, community relations, advancement programs, fundraising, including planned and deferred giving, annual giving and capital campaigns.
The Senior Vice-President for Institutional Advancement also oversees the offices that are housed in the unit to include Communications and Marketing, Athletic Compliance and Alumni Relations, Development, Research and Gifts. The Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement holds the senior position on the Administrative Council and reports to the President.
About Brandon P. Brown:
Brandon P. Brown is Senior Vice-President of Institutional Advancement at Paine College. Brown is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He joined the staff of Paine College in 2008. Brown received his Bachelors degree in History from Paine College in 2000 and a Masters of Human Resource Development from Webster University in 2010. Brown is also responsible for scholarships, endowments and furthering the institution’s strategic plan.
He is no stranger to fundraising, in 2006; he served as State Deputy Political Director for then Senator Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. In 2004, Brown became the first African American to run for a seat in the United States Congress from South Carolina’s Fourth Congressional District.
In 2009, Brown was charged with leading the fundraising effort for the Health Education Activities Learning Complex, which was completed and opened in January 2013. Brown was also responsible for the College’s largest gift of 4 million from the U.S. Department of Energy.
Brown is active in a variety of civic and social organizations in both Georgia and South Carolina. Brown currently serves on the Historic Augusta Board of Directors. Brown is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and St. Luke United Methodist Church of Augusta, Georgia.
