Local News Anchor To Serve As Guest Speaker at Assembly

(AUGUSTA, GA) – Paine College’s Department of Media Studies will host assembly on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel. The keynote speaker will be Rachel Moore, multi-media journalist for WFXG Fox 54 News.

Moore joined the Fox54 news team as a multi-media journalist in September 2011.  She is a native of Los Angeles. Moore earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and her master’s degree from Florida A&M University.  While earning a master's at FAMU, she reported for the university's television station. She covered local news and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sports as the Florida State University sports as the Florida State University correspondent.

Moore has also interned as a reporter for WTXL in Tallahassee, Fla. and has served as a copy editor for ESPN.com in Bristol, Conn.

She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
