Michael Gardner, a junior accounting major from Hephzibah, Ga is this week's Tom Joyner Foundation's "Herc Scholar". Born in Landstuhl, Germany to Winston and Pamela Gardner, Michael will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and later earn a Master's Degree in Accounting as well.
This honor student has a 4.0 GPA and aspires to become a Certified Public Accountant and lead his own business. Michael has a love for reading and believes that books are, "the window to the world for me.”
At Paine, Michael volunteers as a math tutor at a local community center, serves a peer tutor, and is a student advisor. Michael is one of five male students selected.
Paine College is a four-year, private co-educational college, located on a beautiful 57-acre campus in the heart of Augusta, Ga. The campus is located one hour away from Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, and it is an easy two-hour drive from Atlanta, the capital of Georgia.
