(AUGUSTA, GA)-Paine College students Ciara Harris and Alexis Hayes were chosen to participate in the Claflin University Pre-Service Teacher Summer Institute (PSTI). The two-week summer institute will take place June 4-12 in Orangeburg, SC.
Harris, an Early Childhood Education major and Hayes, a Middle Grades Education major will obtain exemplary training at the residential institute. The program is designed to increase skills in teaching mathematics and science while incorporating technology into the curriculum. Participants will develop an electronic portfolio that contains resources gained during the program. Participants will present their portfolios to the PSTI faculty and staff at the close of the program.
The Paine College Department of Education is extremely proud of the students for going above and beyond to find opportunities that increase their academic knowledge.
