SIAC Volleyball: Week 5 Player of the Week Honors Announced
Kentucky State University outside hitter Emily Grieshaber has been named SIAC Volleyball Player of the Week after her strong performance this past week. Paine College setter Camachio Harris has been named SIAC Setter of the Week
while Claflin University libero Courtney Person has been named SIAC Defensive Specialist of the Week.
Harris, a native of Montgomery, AL, led Paine with 85 assists, including 44 against Spelman College, in three matches. The 5-6 junior also contributed 15 kills with a .314 hitting percentage along with 25 digs, five block assists and four service aces for the Lady Lions, helping lead them to a victory over conference foe Fort Valley State.
Grieshaber, a 5-11 freshman from Thorntown, IN, led the Thorobrettes with 12 kills and a .556 hitting percentage with just two errors in their one match for the week. She also contributed four digs, two block assists, and one service ace while helping lead Kentucky State to a win over Fisk University in straight sets for their 17th
win of the season.
Person, who earns her third weekly honor this season, continued an impressive freshman campaign with 49 digs in two matches. The Columbia, SC native also delivered 11 service aces and one assist for the Lady Panthers, who went on the road and defeated both Virginia State and Virginia Union to push their overall record to 13-6 for the season.
