(Augusta, GA) - Bradley Freeman, a senior Education major was recognized this morning on the Tom Joyner Morning Show as a Hercules Scholarship recipient. Freeman is the first of five students to receive the scholarship worth $1,500.
All scholarships announced during the Tom Joyner Morning Show are awarded through the Tom Joyner Foundation. All Hercules scholarship recipients must be male students at Paine College and have a 3.5 GPA or above, actively involved in campus activities and organizations and actively involved in community service.
Listen to the Tom Joyner Morning Show throughout the month of July to hear Joyner and his morning show crew announce many more recipients. The Hercules Scholarship will be awarded to a Paine College student every Thursday and will be announced on-air during the month of July.
Paine College has been selected as Tom Joyner Foundation 2010 School of the Month (July). From January 2010- December 2010, all funds raised via the Paine College/ Tom Joyner Foundation Partnership will be sent directly to Paine for the students. The Tom Joyner Foundation is a major fundraising vehicle for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) formed by the nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner. The Tom Joyner Foundation has assisted every HBCU, which is defined as “any historically black college or university that was established prior to 1964, whose principal mission was, and is, the education of Black Americans."
