Augusta, GA- After regaining their confidence with a 74-71 win over the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University on Thursday, January 14, 2010, the victory was short-lived, as the Lions loss to Albany State University Rams, Saturday January 16, 2010 in Carter Gymnasium.

Junior guard Thomas Broughton scored 12 points, and was the only Lion to score in double figures.   Junior Curtravious Smith (pictured) grabbed 12 rebounds in the 51-67 loss.  Down by 12 points at the half, the Lions just could not find their rhythm, and did not recover.   Shooting just 35 percent from the field, the Lions were able to come within 9 points several times, but that would be as close as the Lions would get.

Albany State Rams Sean Glenn and Truett O’Neal led all scorers with 14 points.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 5-9 overall and 5-6 in the SIAC.

The Lions will return to action, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 as they host Morehouse College Maroon Tigers in Carter Gymnasium.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
