The Lady Lions shot 50 percent in the first half, and went into the locker-room with a 35-24 lead over the Lady Jaguars, but the Jaguars fought back in the second half, and with 3:17 left, led the contest 55-53.  Junior Shanee’ Butler put the Lady Lions back in front (56-55) after connecting with a three-pointer.

To return the favor, a lay-up by Augusta State’s Wanetta Carlisle put the Lady Jaguars back up 58-57.  LaDeatte and the Lady Lions would not be outdone, so they answered back with a lay-up to cling to the lead, and win the game 59-58.

Wanetta Carlisle scored a team high 21 points for the Lady Jaguars.

The Lady Lions will return to action Saturday, December 12, 2009 as they host Voorhees College at 1:00 PM in Carter Gymnasium.
