Placement Test Preparation
|
The placement test is comprised of three areas, Math, Reading and English. The primary
function of the test is to determine competency in the subject area and the classes
you will be able to take.
Who has to take the test?
First-time freshmen and college transfer students.
Who is exempt from taking the test or portions of the test?
- Presidential Scholars
- College transfer students who have received a C or above in a regionally accredited
college level course comparable to our math, reading or writing course offerings.
- High school graduates who have scored 450 or above on the Critical Reading, Math
or Writing section of the SAT I test
- High school graduates who have scored 19 or above on English, Reading or Math
section of the ACT test
What happens if I don’t pass the test?
You will be required to take Enhancement Courses. Enhancement courses are worth
institutional credit (which are not transferable to other institutions) and they
do not count toward
your required credit completion for graduation.
