Paine College Pre-Freshman Summer Academy (PCPSA) 

Overview


The Paine College Pre-Freshman Summer Academy (PCPSA) is a six-week, intensive academic enhancement and cultural enrichment program on the historic campus located in Augusta, Georgia. PCPSA offers admitted freshmen and rising high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enhance their ability to excel in their undergraduate college years.


Eligibility

  • High School graduates who have been admitted to Paine College for the Fall Semester 2012
  • High School graduates who intend to apply to Paine College for the Fall Semester 2012
  • Rising High School Juniors and Seniors with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or better

Room and Board


All students who are accepted into PCPSA will be housed in a resident hall on the Paine College campus. Meals will be provided in the college dining facility seven days of the week.

The Curriculum Levels


Level I:
Students who have been admitted to Paine College will take the following courses:
  • English 101: Composition (3 credits)
  • Math 122: College Algebra (3 credits)
  • Education 101: Preparing for Excellence (1 credit)

Level II: Students who have not been admitted to Paine College and Rising High School Seniors will take the following courses:
  • English 101: Composition (3 credits)
  • Math 122: College Algebra (3 credits)

Expenses


Level I: $2,750 ($250 per credit hour; $1,000 room and board)
Level II: $2,500 ($250 per credit hour; $1,000 room and board)
